I will use different colors and amounts of crayons and have them color the same
amount of blocks in the bars to represent color of the crayons.

First introduce the four basic 2D shapes to children and then introduce them to the four basic 3D shapes. Let them match the 2D shapes with the 3D shapes as an activity.
